  1. Hi Lucy,

Great work on completing your first Summer Learning Journey blog post. I am really excited you have decided to join in and I look forward to reading your posts over the Summer.

When I was at primary school, my family and I used to go camping all the time and had to pack so much food as there were no shops around us. We used to take lots of food for the BBQ and yummy snacks.
Have you been camping before? What foods did you take with you on your trips?

Until next time, happy blogging :)

  2. Hi Emma,

What camping ground did you go to?
I have been to Grumpy's kiwi holiday park in Geraldine. I went with my Grandma, Mum and my little brother. I was two when I went there. We were very lucky to have a caravan to stay in, so we could take all our food from home because we had a fridge and freezer, stove and oven.
Hopefully these holidays my Grandma will take me on a tenting holiday.

    Bye from Lucy

  3. Kia ora Lucy,

We used to go to Balmoral Reserve in Hurunui quite often as well as Motueka camping ground up near Nelson. It was always a lot of fun as a many of my extended family would come along too.
Caravans are a great idea for going camping with as they have everything you need in them. If you could go camping anywhere in New Zealand, where would you go?

Until next time, happy blogging :)

    1. Kia ora Emma,

When my great Nana died and I went to her funeral, we went to Mt Maunganui. I stay in a motel which I called my beach house. I would like to go back there again to play at the beach.

If I could go anywhere in the world I would go to Hawaii. Last year my mum bought me a surfboard, maybe when I get good I can surf the waves in Hawaii.

Where in the world would you like to visit?

      Bye from Lucy

    2. HI Lucy, I have loved reading your blogging and comments so far. I didn't know you had a surfboard, how cool! If the weather is good this summer I'd like to finally get up standing on one. Good luck with your surfing!

    3. Hi Ms Lange,

My big sister has a surfboard too. Jorja goes to a surf school where she learns to surf. Last summer when I went to the beach my mum pushed me to hard on my surf board and I fell off. I didn't like it at all. The waves and my board went over my head. It was scary. I got back on though and tried again. Mum said this summer we are going to the beach more so I'll get to practice some more.

Are you going to borrow one from a surf school or do you own your own surfboard?

      Bye for now
      Lucy

  4. Hi Lucy,

The beach house sounds lovely. I am sorry to hear about your Great Nana passing. My Nana died when I was about your age so I know it can be hard.
Hawaii sounds so beautiful, my parents have been there too. I would love to go there one day.
I think I would like to go back to Croatia, we went there a few years ago and it was amazing. A new place I'd like to go to is Fiji. The snorkeling there looks awesome.
    Have you been snorkeling before?

Until next time, happy blogging :)

  5. Kia Ora Emma,

It's lovely that you want to go to Fiji. My mum has been twice to Fiji.

I have never been snorkeling but I would like to go. I would like to go and see fishes and starfish and if I'm lucky maybe even a dolphin!

    Bye for now Lucy
