Kia ora Lucy I am so happy (harikoa) to see you use your mihi like this, tino pai rawa atu! We celebrate the same things as you but not Valentines really. Last week we had ice cream sundaes for dessert because the boys got great school reports. What do you do to celebrate when you achieve something?
I don't celebrate Valentines every year but I do sometimes. I like Mothers day more than Fathers day because Dads are so much more pickier.
I like ice-cream sundaes too. What is your favourite Sundae? Sometimes I get an ice-cream sundae from McDonalds. Where did you get your ice-cream sundae from, or did you make them? I know how to make a cup sundae, first you get a cup, put ice-cream in then add your toppings.
When I achieve something I go to a toy shop or to McDonalds. I only get things when I work hard to achieve something.
Kia ora Lucy You are really good at writing a good comment and carrying on a conversation on your blog. A cup sundae is exactly what we make at home to celebrate, or in a small glass or a ramekin(do you know that that is?). I prefer vanilla ice cream, berries, and chocolate sauce or berry sauce. Have a great Christmas, are you getting excited yet? Ka kite Ms L
Hi Ms Lange, Miss Walters sent me some Blog commenting sentence starters, that Lucy has been looking at to get ideas from. Even with replying to people I’m trying to also encourage her think about what the person has said and what she could say to let them know she has read their comment and what questions she could ask that person too. This whole journey is giving Lucy so many opportunities to learn new skills and the duration to practice them. It’s very exciting to see her progress so much already. I know nothing about Chrome books, so it’s been great to see what Lucy is capable of. Erica (Lucy’s mum)
Great work on completing another Summer Learning Journey activity - keep up the good work. Don’t forget to comment back to blog commenters as well as on others SLJ blog posts to gain extra points.
What an informative poster you have created to explain your culture and where you come from. Well done on including your Mihi, it can help identify a lot about a person.
Like your family, we like to celebrate special occasions like birthdays and Christmas together as a family.
I think that it is so cool that you can do sign language. Is there a reason you have learnt sign language? We speak english at home and little bit of Māori. I would like to learn more so I can teach my son.
To support my learning I ask you to comment as follows: 1. Something positive - something you like about what I have shared. 2. Thoughtful - A sentence to let us know you actually read/watched or listened to what I had to say 3. Something thoughtful - how have you connected with my learning? Give me some ideas for next time or ask me a question.
